How would you like to die? Quickly? While you were doing something you love....or pecefully in your sleep?--Al

Peacefully, in my sleep. My father died that way. I hope I last a few decades longer....but I hope the cause of death is hereditary.--Al

In the arms of the man I love, with one daughter holding one of my hands, the other daughter holding the other, and surrounded by many caring and loving grandchildren.

I'd prefer a public execution. Knowing your time of death appeals to me, and I love attention. Preferably as a martyr, but not for a while yet. :) More realistically, I hope I'll be awake. Death is a once in a lifetime event. (Not that I am in any haste, mind you.)

i would like to have my house in order, my i's dotted and my t's crossed - no loose ends. i would like to visit my family and other loved ones frequently. and then to pass away quietly in my sleep. no nursing homes for me, no worries or overloads of responsibilites for my family. in a way, i say good bye to all each time i see them, a hug, kind words other ways of expressing love.

I agree that I want to have all loose ends tied up first. That's important, but seems impossible to me. So maybe I will never die?

But if I do clean up those loose ends--after that, I can go. I want to fall asleep peacefully and slip into a permanent, hopefully peaceful dream.

But--and this is at odds with my first wish-- I want my body to become a fossil. I want my skeleton to be preserved. For that I guess my death would have to happen at sea, where silt can quickly cover me over--so that someone someday, after earthly upheaval and climate shifts--someone can find me on a mountain, mixed in with sea fossils. And they can wonder at the beauty of human architecture, and wonder how I happened to die with the sea creatures.

I want my body to tell a fantastic story long after I am gone.

I would like to die at the exact same moment when everyone who loves me dies so they will never feel the pain of losing me and vice versa. Painlessly would also be nice.

Prefer to die painlessly at the beach, watching the sunset, listening to the melody waves.

Soon (quickly), as long as my family is taken care of and I don't put them through any substantial financial burdens. I also don't want to cause anyone else physical discomfort in the proccess (such as in an auto accident that's my fault.

THE METHOD DOESN'T MATTER AS LONG AS THE RESULT IS THE SAME. CAN'T FEEL AT PEACE OR IN PAIN RIGHT NOW, JUST NUMB. IT WOULD BE AN END TO THIS LIFE, PAIN FOR THE FAMILIES AND FRIENDS, BUT A FINAL RELEASE, SELFISH OR NOT, A RELEASE A RELEASE NONETHELESS.
