Evolution of a Question

...I believe there are powerful corporate heads who see a Y2K train wreck about to hit industry. Or perhaps some have known for years it was coming, eg, IBM, Microsoft, or I dunno? (I figure if anybody would see this coming it might be these two) I wonder what a team of cohesive US corps (maybe I should say multinational) might be planning regarding this. I'm not sure what elements should go into my question(s) here. My best guess is industry will be fractured in some cases, drop dead in some cases, trench, etc. If I'm a team of the big corps, what are my big plans in the US, and globally if Y2K is a 5, a 7, or a 9? I just think it might be helpful or at least interesting to speculate about this. How are are the big corps aligned and opposed? In an earlier oil industry thread it looked as though there was fierce and uncooperative competition in the oil industry....I'm sure there are conflicting opinions about who are TPTB. My own is that there are several and conflicting......How will this chess game play out?.....Alobar

You ever see the Movie "Aliens"? That Ripley and her gang always refer to "The Corporation"? Gotta hunch that we may be seeing the transformation of the world's political arena to a multinational monopoly/governmental organism. Rather that the separation of church and state, we should have added the codicile, separation of Business and State.

If one looks at some of the 'mergers' over the past few years, and the conglomeration of the worlds largest industries, one might get the feeling, that despite the anti-trust laws of the US, we may see a "One-World Corporate-Government" Everybody is so worried about the 'NWO' and the UN, that lately, it's (Big Business) has been overlooked. Look at Microsoft. Don't tell me that Gates couldn't buy out EVERY other computer company in existance if he didn't want to...

This concept frightens me even more than the concept of Russian troops patrolling my town: A Government who's soul purpose is to rake in 'profit.' I expect the flames, but if you really can think abstractly, you'll see it's not so far fetched.

Microsoft (Bill Gates) was really late in getting Y2K. They didn't have anykind of website to speak of on the subject till May 98 and didn't know the status of windows 3.X till months afterward. So if there is a "master plan" it isn't of their making.

If you read the Y2K disclosures from Microsoft on the 10 - Q forms a person could believe they are way behind on the issues. Here is a older thread with the disclosure. Lots of use of the word assessment.
