...here's a "potential" glitch area-maybe- I have not seen addressed. I was cleaning out my keyboard, and had it disassembled. well....WHAT'S ALL THEM CHIPPY LOOKIN THINGS IN THERE? I have not seen this question addressed or answered anyplace. I mean, with all this emphasis on the computers and the software, here's this innocent looking take it for granted thing we all use. I raised the question before, just trying again, techno-hacks. Thanks! zog the most curious.......

OK here's a simplistic answer:

count the keys on your keyboard. How many are there ? Probably over 100. Now, do you see over 100 wires coming out of your keyboard ? No ? Well that's what the 'chippy things' are there for, to create 'scancodes' for each of the keys, and to work the LEDS !

And no before you ask, I don't expect any compliance problems with keyboards, the biggest problem at New Year will probably be spilt drinks !
