GM Concerned Over Y2K In Russia - (DETROIT) -- General Motors says it may remove some of its employees from Russia before the new year. The company is concerned over Y-two-K computer glitches in that country. The U-S government also has some concerns about Russia's Y- two-K readiness. The State Department will withdraw dozens of employees and their family members from Russia and three other former Soviet Republics before January first. G-M expects the move to have little impact on its profit or other international business. The company is negotiating with Russia's largest automaker to build a 200- Million-dollar assembly plant in that country.

When GM speaks people instinctively hear the message.

Oh yea, the State Department has some value too, but they are after all life-long diplomats, etc.

But when the people who make your cars and trucks (not trying to short-sheet Ford here at all) speak it hits close to home. Close as in your garage.

Heck, is GM is worried about it there MUST be something to it.
