This AM Arnold Schwarzenegger makes prep Cool. Sez Maria's doing the stockpiling for him.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

He was being interviewed about 'The End of Days' and was asked specifically if he was stockpiling food. Said "no, my wife is" in a very forward, non-sheepish way.

His overall position seems to be that he'll develelop a negative attitude about Y2K WHEN things mess up, and not before.

I wonder if this is going to be Hollyweed's answer to Y2K.

Arnold's just not capable of a negative thought, is he?

Now Maria, on the other hand, being a member of THAT family, must know the smell of disaster from miles away...!

It's got to be tough to prep for Arnold. You have to figure on 3,500 to 5,000 calories per day.

I guess protein powder is the way to go here.

After reading AAAAAAHHHnold's "Girly man" post, I GI. Arnold hangs out here and his alter-ego is.......DIETER!

(Substitute "girly man" for "infidels" and you'll see what I mean.

Several months ago I saw an interview iwth Nick Nolte. In this interview he told that he has a very large house and several acres of land. He went on to say he has turned the land under and started gardens. At that time, I wondered if he was a GI.

Arnold actually tried to avoid the the line of questioning from Matt Lauer (sp?). He said he was going to be skiing and drinking schnapps, and that the slopes didn't need computers for snow. When Matt continued to press him for his opinion on Y2K, he said Maria "might" be putting some provisions away be HE certainly wasn't going to worry about it.

I found it more interesting that Matt's question came out of the clear blue and that he wouldn't let Arnold off the hook without an answer. Made me wonder if this type of question will become standard when interviewing celebs. Sheeple want to know if their idols are prepping before they'll do anything.

HASTA LA VISTA BABY!

-- The Hulk (smallhumor@xx.ed), November 15, 1999.

Dale, did we see the same interview? at about 7:45 central, on ABC?

-- lisa (lisa@work.now), November 15, 1999.

Lisa,

The interview I saw was on the Today show hosted by Matt Lauer and Katy Kuric (SP?). I believe that is NBC, not ABC. I do not know who hosted the show you watched, but Arnold did try to avoid the question until Matt pressed on. He said Maria "might" be doing some preps, but he was not worried at all about it.

Strange if two networks both asked him about his year-end preps or concerns...

-- Dale (Dale@spicreative.com), November 15, 1999.

Dale - For what it's worth, I saw and heard exactly what you did. NBC this morning.

Actually, it make me think of Klinton. When asked if he is preparing of course he said no - technically correct - but he left out the important part, i.e., someone else is preparing for him.

Arnold said he's not worried about computers not working that he will be skiing at the top of the mountain. Well, I want to see Arnold walk up that big ol mountain when the ski lifts don't work, cause the elect don't work, cause the computer that he doesn't care about don't work. ;-)

Disconnect.

BTW, for you Arnold S fans, I too like Arnold but think he's been around the politicians too long.

Top off the tanks on the Gulfstream V. When TSHTF, it won't be coming out the back of Arnolds jet. He'll be back.

Arnold owns a restaurant in Santa Monica, CA. Soooo, lots of food preps anytime he wants them.

-- Stacia (ClassyCwgl@aol.com), November 16, 1999.

This is not the same interview I saw.
