Looky here, it's a contest.

If you guess what tv show I watched last night, what I watch every Monday night, I'll give you the commemorative two dollar Canadian coin I found in my wallet this morning, a pack of my favourite chewing gum AND a CD I never listen to anymore.

(Barb and Michael: you two cannot play.)

awwwwwwww, c'mon man!!!!!! This is the closest I'll ever get to "Who wants to be a Millionaire"!!!!!!!!! Let me play, dammit, just so I can say one time - "that's my final answer" This sucks, this sucks big, this is so unfair, so unjust, so NOT right, you gotta let me play. No dammit, I am not a sore loser!!!

Well, This Hour Has 22 Minutes and Made in Canada should really count as one show. I'd have a hard time picking between them, but since you say every Monday, I'll go with THH22M.

If it's not THH22m, it's The Nature of Things, or whatever that show was about that Russian flying plane thing, but I'm sticking with THH22M.

Is that your *final* answer? Yes, Regis.

(Bzzz! Incorrect. But, good try. You're tricky, trying the Canadian angle.)

Is it "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit"? If not, it should be : )

(No, but you're about the tenth person to suggest I watch that show. Now that I know what day it's on, I'll give it a try.)

Do y'all (yes, I'm Southern) get all the regular US network shows? I'm gonna guess "Everybody Loves Raymond". If not, WHY NOT??!! It's hilarious!

(Yep, you bet we get all the US shows, but you guessed wrong. No chewing gum for you!)

How about Ally Mcbeal???

Another good try. But no, I've never even seen an episode of Ally McBeal. Dig lower, people!)

My guess...

Stargate: SG1? ;)

(Umm, no. NO! NO! NO!)

Made in Canada?

(Too many Canadians here. Although you Canadians should catch my new favourite show, DaVinci's Inquest on CBC Wednesday nights. It won a Gemini Award for best Drama Series, which means it probably will get cancelled next season.

Okay, back to Monday nights: think AMERICAN. Think, and this is a BIG hint, about rocks and socks and...)

-- Megan (m_edwards@canoemail.com), November 18, 1999.

OK...

well...

good hint.

I could go with the Rocks lead, and suggest 3rd Rock from the Sun...

Or I could take your hint as a logical progression.. rocks... socks... jocks, and go with Coach Wade Phillips.

(Darren! I cannot believe how close you're THINKING, still, you're wrong. The problem with you is that you're not 'thick-skulled' enough to guess correctly!)

-- Darren James Harkness (solas@direct.ca), November 19, 1999.

My God... it couldn't be Monday Night Football, could it?

(Darren, it's worse.)

Happy Days on Nick-at-Nite.

I really don't belong to your group -- I kind of fell in here on my way to somewhere else. I was trying to find an old CD (National Lampoon's Radio Dinner) when I stumbled across a link to your stuff. I was grabbed by the quality of your entry page, and had to know who was doing this work!

I think I might have cheated a little on getting the answer (if I DID get the answer). I used the Web Ferret (www.ferretsoft.com) to find a TV guide site, then just scrolled through ultimatetv.com to find a possibility.

It's your call on the prize -- like I said, I'm actually just a visitor (eavesdropper, intruder, wanna-be, etc.).

Great idea for getting people to write, though . . .

Chuck P.S. I just read the qualifier at the bottom of this page that tells senders not to use a fake address. My address works, but it's an alias that forwards to a real mailbox. It's very handy -- and free. So, today, my mail gets dropped in my account at chuckgosh@hotmail.com, but it's gotten pretty full, lately. I may change it to have mail sent to my account at chuckgosh@mail.com, or another one at chuckgosh@yahoo.com, or I could even have my mail end up at my company's email address, cgosh@compucom.com. It's all transparent to the sender, and I'll never have to notify anyone that, "I've got a new email address." Details at http://easy.to or at my homepage at http://hello.to/freesample (which is also an alias for the actual site at http://members.spree.com/business/freesample, which is harder to remember, and I can change at any time without notifying anyone). P.S.S. I just found that Happy Days is on other nights, too, so you can ignore this message. Have fun with your contest!

(Hey Chuck, good try. And very resourceful! But, no, you're WRONG. I cannot believe no one has guessed this yet. Two hints: check online tv listings for Monday nights. The time varies, sometimes it is on much later than 9pm. Second Hint: Darren, you are SO close.)

-- Chuck Gosh (chuck@messages.to), November 20, 1999.

My only other possible guess could be the Hockey News... and if I'm right with this guess, I'm flying over to Kitchener tomorrow to re-civilise you! ;)

(AHHHHHHHH! The problem with you is that you're obviously too damn civilized to even know what show I am talking about! Try again.)

-- Darren James Harkness (solas@direct.ca), November 20, 1999.

Oh dear god no... CFL Football!

*runs*

*hides*

(It is worse than football, hockey, baseball, curling, basketball, tennis, golf [well nothing is worse than golf], it is _ _ _ !)

-- Darren James Harkness (solas@direct.ca), November 21, 1999.

WWF is about as low as I can guess without self-inflicting a lobotomy on myself... I pray I'm wrong with this guess too. ;)

HAHAHAHAA!!! Yes, I have a winner! I told you to go low and you finally did it! Woohoo!!!

(Now, you tell anyone about this and I'll have to kill you. Me watching the WWF, that is.)
