Looking for post on russian missile launch "celebrations" for New Years Eve

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I thought I saw a post earlier today about Russia sending up missiles as a fireworks celebration on New Years Eve or even sending missiles with "presents" to other countries. Was I hallucinating? It came to me in an email as a link to this site (I think) discussing a CNN report. But I haven't been able to find it on this site or on CNN. Maybe it was just a hoax (I hope) -- it certainly sounds way too bizarre to be true.

Anyhow, if anyone can shed some light on this, provide a link, etc. I would really appreciate it.
