Nancy Drew mysteries. I couldn't read them fast enough.

Sci-Fi; the sword and sorcery stuff. I loved, if memory serves me right, Norton, Tanith Lee, Le Quin, McCaffrey. (Dragons and witches and vampires, oh my) My older sister got me hooked on it. My husband and I had our very first conversation (at a wedding dance) about Sci- Fi. He still reads alot of it, I'm more generalized fiction now. But we have the mandatory bookshelves of hundreds of sci-fi, in thier own hallowed area. I periodically try to get my kids to read sci-fi, but so far no luck. It just seems to go well with the teen angst thing.
