OT? The Dangers from Nuclear Weapons: Myths and Facts

Many on this site seem to hold a common misconception about the effects of nuclear war. For those of you who think that a nuclear war will mean the end of all life on earth, check out The Dangers from Nuclear Weapons: Myths and Facts by Cresson H. Kearny, from his book Nuclear War Survival Skills. This book was originally published by Oak Ridge National Laboratory, a nuclear weapons facility of the U.S. Department of Energy.

I would also recommend that you read the Foreward to the book, written by Dr. Edward Teller, the so-called "Father of the H-Bomb."

If you have an open mind, I think you will be surprised by the information found there.

Also there are several types of explosions designed to do different damage. Airburst - blast, EMP, Ground burst - blast smaller contamination larger, sub ground burst - shot at hardened target.

We unilaterally disarmed and the great remaking government was reducing government by making the armed services smaller. "Peace in our time"

Also a nuclear blast doesn't suck, but the return shock does.
