"A chain saw is the most dangerous hand tool that can be purchased on the open market. It requires no license and no training to own or operate. Approximately 40,000 injuries and deaths were reported last year in the United States ... and most could have been prevented."

This 3 part series on chain saw safety just may save you a bad accident. Better than 'hobbling' into Y2K. :-))

But it is nothing compared to the havoc wreaked by the ordinary automobile, in terms of death, injuries, and cost to the people.

But, I do agree that aa chainsaw is a dangerous tool, and shouldn't be used without practice, study, and training (if you can get training in using one.) jJWe make a practice to not use our saws unless another adult is within sight of the saw operator, even cutting up wood in the backyard. And I've been using chainsaws for over 25 years (and have had a couple of scary close calls, too.) Jim
