I'm sure to get alot of flack about this, but....

I've a good friend who has been channeling for 25 years or more....when he first became aware of y2k (Spring, last year) he started asking his "Guides" about the situation in four or five locations where his family/friends were located....he also had made out a list of concerns, (electricity, water/sewage, gas, etc., etc.), and kept track of what information was given...at first he checked in everthe last few months he has been checking in a couple time a week.

Up until October the "Guides" gave pretty high marks for everywhere, a bump here and there, but nothing serious....quite suddenly there were changes....the electricity would be down a week or two, instead of "spotty problems, maybe out for a couple days at most"....gas would be available, but there would be shortages here and there....the phones might be out a more extended period of time....and so on.

Then, about 4 weeks ago, a whole new set of information was given....they foresaw that there was a growing potential (80%) for the grid to go down, and they could not see anywhere in the future where it came back on....they said that it would not be a "falling-over-the-cliff" scenario, but that things would slowly grind downhill, and it would take awhile for the failures, shortages, unavilable services to bring a halt to present way of life....they advised my friend to prepare in two ways = to get enough to stay at home and out of the way when the first threshold had been crossed; and, to also start thinking in the long term, in that we would be starting to develop and create new living patterns.

When I first heard this it gave me feeling of relief, that we were going to get a "breather", in that it wasn't going to be a horrendous slamming-into-the-wall scene....The falling-off-the-cliff seems to push my buttons alot harder then a general slowing down, with some adjustment time, and the beginnings of co-operation to do the best we can for the most people we can.

So, I'm wondering, what are other people's intuitions (or "Guides" or whatever) telling them....do you feel that everything is just going to suddenly stop existing in the old way, or do you see the cascading events accumulating until one day the old thing (system) just grinds to a halt? Do you feel we will have brown out and blackout here and there as they diddle with things trying to keep the grid up; or, do you think/believe/feel that, BOOM, it is all going to sweep instantly across the nation and globe....and I'd also like to know if you have any intuition about how long you think the power will be down, or you feel it may never boost up again.

The only time I "feel" or sense the "Guide(s)" in this situation is when I eat pizza and pop. Sometimes chile does it, too.

I, sarcastically, don't give a flip about channelling nor would I put any weight on it at all.

Seriously, though, I do look at the facts, and there are plenty of them out there, and read the Senate reports, etc. that indicate that we are very vulnerable to significant disruptions. That, along with the potential for terrorism events, cyber-terrorism, potential nuclear exchanges with Russia, China, etc. - well - it leads me to believe everyone should be preparing. Not maybe, not for a "winter storm" - prepare like your life may depend on it. It does.

Let others tear it up. I won't. Not for a minute.

I'm convinced we will have problems with JIT inventory deliveries. Things will look fine and dandy for a while but it will become harder and harder to get fresh produce, dairy products and other perishables. Eventually canned goods, etc., will also become a problem. (This info from a vivid premonitory dream I had).

Also, I think water problems with become a _very_ serious issue. Bad water, contaminated water, no water. All sorts of problems there.

Can't address the grid or telecommunications. But what Y2K doesn't fry, a good set of solar flares might.

On a somewhat lighter note....I predict premiums on gold bullion coins will drop sharply in January and February. So keep your powder dry if you want to buy some precious metals.

I'm a Software Engineer, and after reading papers on both sides of the aisle, I still cannot fully asess the damage caused by Y2K. That has caused me to prepare for the worst even though I think this will only be a 2 or 3 based on my own testing.

I can say that we are a very rich country with one hell of a lot of talented people. Since we are specialized, we tend to look at technology as 'black boxes', that, in my opinion, has lead to a great deal of fear on this. Believe me, there are many engineers that fully understand the impact on embedds and software systems in genneral. After all they (we) wrote and built all of it.

Even if EVERY embedded chip failed in every device in the entire US, we would still have a pool of bright people, great natural resources, as well as housing for almost all of our people.

We need to recognize that, yes, this is a serious problem, but we will get past it.

There are several trains of thought of how the y2k crisis may unfold. #1 stay positive no matter what may come God Always provides for his children. Get spiritually prepared to weather fast changing scenarios. Most likely we will not see the any real show stopping events till after Christmas. So we wont really have a clue what to expect until then. After Christmas it will be a different story. The Govt doesnt want to spooke the heard until then. Holidays are big business and they will try to let nothing upset that. If we see a rapid massive militarization of law enforcement and deployment of the armed forces in the streets you will know that the full monty is coming. This is not the worse case, If this process does not occur we are in trouble big time. They will have to pull the plug on the old software after Christmas sometime and upload the new software and check the sensors to prevent catistrophic equipment failure before turning on power area by area. This means blackouts of undetermined duration that will have to be well managed until utilities are brought back up. Be ready to produce your own food on an ongoing basis (sprouting seeds for greens) and plenty of staples and get your water acess worked out now. Decide now what how you are going to deal with social unrest,nuke,bio,chem,terrorism,and outbreak of war, should it occur. develop bug out options and stay flexible. Shelter at home and stay in familiar surrondings as long as it is safe to do so. Play y2k by ear, It may not be comfortable but good work arounds may abound. They may keep it working or limping along some how so stay open to that possibility. Y2k will not be of short duration so be prepared to go the distance. Forge good relationships with your nieghbors now. remember you dwell in safety by your nieghbors. Keep your gas tanks filled from now on. Y2k will strike in unexpected ways. Be prepared to be flexible.

We've all had our best guesses, even the "experts" have guessed wrong. Why don't we just wait and see. Frankly, I'm tired of the earthquake predictions too.

Queen, My intuition tells me that I need to check all prophesies against The Word to discern their source. Obviously, the inconsistencies of these "Guides" show that they are not Holy Messengers, so any plan they relate is of questionable objectives, and most likely not in your or your friend's best interest. Sorry, but IMHO.

Dear Queen, I guess I have to say that I pretty much have to agree with your guides. I do NOT believe in channeling but that is exactly how I think it will pan out myself. I have been looking into this for about 1 1/2 years now and have come to this conclusion. Things will start to go on the first but with all the stockpiling and the good economy that we have had it will take maybe 1 to 3 months to come down but when it does hit bottom. I think everyone who is on the Earth today, their lives will be changed forever. We have lived thru some good times but our lives are so artificial and synthetic. We do NOT live we our MOTHER EARTH anymore. We are also so out of balance. What happens with Y2K will just be the beginning, then will come the Earth changes and so forth. Now thru everything that is coming we humanity will be brought back to LIVING with our MOTHER EARTH like the Creator meant for us to. It is sad that lots of people will be suffering but look around when anything gets out of kilter, something happens to bring it back in line. We humanity have really abused this planet for tooo long and it will be time to pay up.

My forecasting techniques, in some respects as intuitive as the "channeling" technique ( but not as controversial ) has it somewhere 5.5+ but definitely LESS than a 7 on the WDCY2K Group's 1-10 scale.

What your friend's guides describe is the "Infomagic spiral." Everything begins falling apart because there are too many tiny, but critical, links that keep our society working. As one link fails, more stress is placed on other links, which will fail in turn.

Harvey: channeling is a method and ability to tune the conscious mind to different levels in order to access needed information, usually given by a "Guide", a disincarnate person, meaning a person without a physical existence, but with a personality essence.

Got No Roldex: couldn't follow the insult, but I didn't recognize me in your jumble of words.

Hightec Redneck and Hokie: my understanding is this....the "Guides" deal with probable realities, including the materialization of those probabilities into physical reality....the future is not a "given", but is played out creatively by all, and is subject to all input....the old cliche of "making our own reality as we go along, (expectations, beliefs, emotions, attitudes, intents, etc. all contributing to the outcome)....the shifting in their prognosis is due to the fact of our ongoing changes....we are all affecting the prognosis itself....I've also read that up until the final outcome, even one person's intense dream could alter the course.

Y2K aware mike: as always, good, sound, full bodied advice.

bardou: well, yes, just waiting, too....

Kayla: well said....truly out of balance, and looking like Earth changes will come because there is already too much suffering, (and I'm certainly not speaking just about humans here!!)....we have been exploring this path of manipulating the material world for a long time, and learned a great deal, including what happens when limits are not designed....next?....perhaps grand adventures into the inner worlds and universes?

well, with regard to developing new living patterns, I certainly hope so. Imagine a world where human dignity (not to mention health) is more important than corporate profits... I'd love to see this in my (current) lifetime.

Is anyone thinking about how we could create a better world post- TEOTWAWKI?

And as far as total disaster is concerned, based upon my research, I also think it will be a slow grinding halt. But humankind does seem to have an amazing ability to sidestep potentially devastating occurances...

Well, Ive gotten flack for a long time, so welcome to the flack- collectors club.

At any rate, have a friend whos a master energy dowser... and I do mean a Master at it. Weve been checking in every few weeks for the Silicon Valley area. The patterning keeps coming up that there will be rolling problems. Some things will get fixed, but then something else will happen.

The aggregate need appears, at this timing, to be ready with food for at least three weeks, and water hovering at 4 to 5 weeks. But its not a straight line continum. Again... rolling.. like waves. Some backouts & brownouts, but rolling again.

The energy keeps shifting too, so the probable realities are constantly changing.

A strong, clear repeat energetic message is to get connected to your own guidance (whatever you perceive that to be).

A larger consciousness shift is underway... planet-wide.

I don't know who my guardians and allies are, but I get rewarded when I pay attention to synchronicities and other "messages," as if it were some long-term behavior mod training. Dreams of batteries 3 nights in a row till I finally went out and picked up one of theose jumper-starter battery units, and suddenly needed to use it 5 times in the next 3 days due to an alternator problem.

The deal I sense with Them is this: I've got a brain, They expect me to use it for my community. I've got relatively good social skills, They expect me to use them for my community. I've got a heart, and They expect me to remember compassion in my actions. Sometimes I screw up. They expect me to learn from my mistakes, pick myself up, and get on with it. They are not going to hand me everything on a silver platter, like chattier type guides.

That said, I'm completely clueless as to what will happen January 1. I only know that what I do in my community and with my friends and family can still pay off in ways that I may never know. One tug on a web pulls the strands at the farest reaches. The power that comes from the grid is not our only power.

My 'gut feeling' is it aint gonna be pretty,but in the meantime I pray for guidance(as in praying to God ) and I pray that my gut feeling is wrong !
