is there a timer for the minox?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Minox Photography : One Thread

I noticed a small device screwed into the minox ec in stuarts tip on how to make your own tripod mount for an ec. This article is archived under the sub clubs do it yourself corner. My question is this-where can you get a self timer attachment that releases the shutter on a minox and mounts on the tripod bracket where the shutter release normally would? I havent seen such a mechanism listed anywhere. If you look close at the picture, you can make out the word "timer" on it.

Chris, you can buy a mechanical timer for shutter release from any camera store. It is a device about 1 x 1.5 x 4 cm, with a rotary dial for tensioning up the spring, a switch to lock the dial and a thread like the tip of shutter release.

When use, scew the tip of the timer into the shutter release, wind up the spring, lock up; when you are ready, release the lock, the timer will time out zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and click clack your shutter. The more you turn the dial, the longer the delay

I use this mechanical timer for my Minox 8x11 (with bracket) and Rollei 35.
