Yes, Lane, good. And disgusting. There is no inner spirit to our commercial life, which is, unfortunately, our public life as a nation. That presages the end of an age equally to the conditions that immediately give rise to that demise (in this case Y2K.

Truly a remarkable essay that voices many of the concerns of GI-dom. Printing it to distribute to the duped, shocked and angry after the rollover to crystalize and focus their energies on the culprits. The media will look different by then anyway.
