Milwaukee Cty. residents receive "Home Guide to Emergency Disaster & Y2k Preparedness" today

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Every Milwaukee County resident today presumably received an 8-page guide entitled "Home Guide to Emergency Disaster & Y2k Preparedness: Preparing a Plan for Emergency Events and Y2k".

It was apparently issued by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, and financed by local utilities, the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and the Milwaukee County Local Emergency Planning Committee, among others.

After considerable searching, I found an online version (there is no direct link from the home page which mentions Y2k.

It's fairly well-done. I imagine most people will immediately file it in the circular file, however.

Cool.

My power company sent me a calendar with pages of info on what to do if Surry melts down, as uh part of their requirement to uh periodically remind the public of the uh normal safety protocol. It's a beautiful wall calendar really.

The county I live in in Virginia sent out much the same packet of information a couple of months ago. I do not know if it has got anyone to start prepping or not. Sure hope so...
