I found the exact kind of PUR "Plus" water filters - faucet and pitcher types - that I was going to order from a website and pay shipping on, at Walgreens today. The pitcher (1/2 gall) type is $24.95 and you get a free gift of a $12.95 refill with it. The faucet "plus" is $34.95, also with a free gift refill. The sale is on all week. Hope you have a Walgreens in your area if you're wanting this type of filter.

The info on it says it removes Cryptosporidium and Giardia 99.99% and reduces lead, copper, asbestos and chlorine, 96 to 99%. Replacement filter (presumably also the original) lasts for 40 gallons. Maybe this isn't best for a family, but for the single & the broke, like me, it's sure good.
