Where can I find listings of ships and passengers that came to The City in February, 1853 from Panama? The Rasmussen books only go to 1852. My relatives came by sea, via the Isthmus of Panama, arriving in Feb. 1853. I am specifically looking for Charles (C.L.) and Bridget White and their 4-5 children. Anyone??

The Alta California ran a regular feature of "shipping news" at that time, which often included passenger lists of arriving ships. You could check the issues for that month, and see if your relatives are listed there. Good luck.
