What is the formula for baby wipes?

I remember seeing a formula for baby wipes. You took a roll of paper towels to make 2 rolls (each the size of a roll of toilet paper). Then you soaked them in a tub of a special soap. What was that soap?

Any ideas?

I have only read one thread about making your own baby wipes. The woman who posted said the homemade baby wipes were not for long term storage because they soured. I would like to know more about this too.

Hi, David!...Just a quick search by 'momma.com'.."The Mother of all search engines" :) (a great search engine BTW)...led to this URL:

There are several different versions of homemade baby wipes including one claiming to be anti-fungal. I hope this helps!

The commercial baby wipes are so strongly woven that they can be washed and re-used, btw. They'll not have the oil or whatever is in them , but they are still useful. If you are actually using them for babies' butts, they can go in with the cloth diapers in the wash.

I believe the special soap is Baby Shampoo or the liquid Baby Soap like 'Baby Magic' either one should do, as they are really gentle for baby's bottom ;-) (I can't find the recipe either!)
