"items associated with the making of bombs" as well as guns, ammunition and ingredients for methamphetamine.

It does not take much to have "items associated with the making of bombs" etc the above. This statement is intended to make the perps look real bad. Don't know what the ingredients for meth are but I do believe they are common chemicals and probably any good paint shop has some ingredients for meth, just guessing but Methyl/Ethyl Ketone. Ingredients do not form a crime. The product, under todays laws, forms the crime. However they might be cited for unsafe storage of chemicals and ordered to clean up the problem but...you see my point.

Search my barn and you could come up with something like bomb "items", pipes, charcoal, and such.

If you aren't already aware of it, Wal-Mart employees WILL call the police if you check out these common items that can be used to make a bomb. Happened in Columbus, Indiana about a year or so ago. Story in The Republic(the local newspaper). So, remember they ARE watching you AND please folks, PAY IN CASH, so they can't profile you.

I have reloading supplies for my firearms including powder and primers. I also have metal pipes in my yard I've been using for antenna masts. Certainly these could be seen as bomb supplies, but the element of intent is missing. Now if police found an actual bomb I had made (no chance of course) then a jury could infer that these were bomb materials, but there has to be some actual evidence that a bomb has been made or that there exists the intention to make one- a very iffy proposition to prove without something overt like a written threat. Many of the cases that have been brought against militia types have been reduced or faltered altogether because of the difficulty of proving intent. It will be up to a jury to decide.
