Relative merits of different cat foods

I'd like to see a discussion of different cat foods and which ones are preferred by experienced MC owners. I'm currently feeding Iams, canned and dry, and Eukanuba, but I'm thinking of alternating a few other types of high-quality food. My big boy's coat is very dry, and he's a bit overweight--he gets Iams lamb and rice, equal amounts canned and dry (no Eukanuba for him). Any input appreciated.

We use a variety of high quality cat foods for our MC cats and often mix several types of dry together so that the cats get different taste bites in their meals! Types we use (and we only use dry) are Eukanuba (particularly good for the kittens), California Natural, Walthams (low calorie food from the vet), and a small amount of NutroMax salmon flavor which they adore! Try to keep your cat's weight under control as they can so quickly get fat and then it is a long job to get their weight down. I think the California Natural and Eukanuba make their coats lovely. Good luck.

My boys do great on the new Science Diet Hairball Control food. It has greatly reduced the hairballs, and their coats are shiny and full and they hardly shed at all.

I am a fan of Wysong's natural cat food, one of the few (if only?) cat foods using organic meats. The creator of Wysong's, a veterinarian, also recommends supplementing the diet with properly prepared raw foods - yes, raw meat with the addition of grains and vegetables. All carnivores eat raw meat, except our domesticated friends - so why now give them the best diet possible? That's my 2 cents.
