An Excellent Web Site on Jehovah's Witnesses

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

We have in the past had some interaction with those who affiliate themselves with the Jehovah's Witnesses. I was just sent this link by a friend to a really good site on the JWs:

David,

I am suprised at you. If a person came to this, Catholic, site and went to posting anti-Catholic information you would get disturbed, as has happened many times here especially with anonymous.

If this is your true reasoning process, then, I should just go to a site that purposes Catholic truths and believe them right?

Of course not, and neither does this site have integrity without a sincere search of facts. Which btw, many have been discussed here and whether you or I believe them is another story.

Yet, you post to a site of someone that is not nor ever has been a Witness and call it good. A search for Truth, or a slander against?

On the contrary, Jamey, the Web site I posted simply asks some penetrating questions. But this is a Catholic forum and since Catholics are frequently accosted by JWs it is altogether appropriate to post these penetrating questions which they can pose back. My own experience is that JWs will immediately leave one alone if one simply asks hard questions and for this reason alone the Web site I posted is valuable.

This the same thing I have done with you but, alas, you chose to leave this forum right at the point that those questions were posted. I would be most interested in your own perspective and answers to the numerous allegations of mistranslation of the Scriptures by the Jehovah's Witnesses in order to bolster their own peculiar doctrines. I think we would all agree that tampering with the true meaning of Scripture is a very serious offense:
