Geekiness: something to hide or something to flaunt?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Till Human Voices Wake Us... : One Thread |
Geekiness. Define it how you will. My definition includes an addiction to RPGs and the internet, being a bookworm, being occasionally shy, and just generally not being 'typically' cool.I know there are some geeks out there. Are you proud of it? Should we organize a Geek Pride Week? Maybe even a Coming Out Day!
Or maybe you don't think you're a geek. Should the rest of us all be shipped off somewhere, or do you secretly wish you had our esoteric knowledge and amazing typing skills?

I am not a geek. I am a nerd. The diffrence, you see, is that I do all the things that makes someone a geek, but I do them well. I also love computers, get good grades, and read everything. Therefore I am not a geek, I am a nerd. And all you geeks should aspire to be me. Nerds are the gods of geeks.

I am neither geek, nor nerd. I am Knurd. Pity me. And worship at the same time. And if you are a geek or a nerd, you'll get the above. As for conventions...aren't we, technically, supposed to be unconventional?

A Knurd? Aren't they the ones the Iraqis were systematically eradicating a little while back? ;)And you thought high school was bad...

What a tragic commentary on our society that a few erudite and eloquent geeknerdknurds could cow the rest of us into submission even THREE YEARS LATER.Er, our sub-society, I mean.
Er, cow the rest of us into silence.
I will *not* submit! I will NOT SUBMIT! (with apologies to what's-his-name, the screenwriter of THE ADDICTION)
