Why isn't the media focusing on Y2k ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Most big News companies "CNN , NBC, ..." haven't talked much about Y2k Impact, not even an analysis of what *could* happen. It seems strange that I need to come to a forum or some 'y2k doomers' Web site to get my news and prediction. I do believe that something major might happen , but the media seems akwardly quiet about it.

Believe it or not, the media believes that they HAVE been giving it a lot of coverage. They also KNOW that Y2k will NOT be a problem, because very credible sources have given their SUPPORT to the theory that Y2k has been SOLVED.

Until the press is given credible information that Y2k will cause serious problems (for example, a memo from a CEO to the board members or an actual interview with a corporate President, a current or retired politician with respect, etc.), the truth will never get told. But don't sweat it, with 2.5 weeks remaining before the start of the next worldwide recession (or worse), the press will catch on eventually. And boy will they have a field day blaming everyone else but themselves.

There was big news yesterday that replaced any potential Y2K coverage.

You don't remember what it was? Hmmm, neither do I.
