Hospitals discouraging Y2K babies WICHITA, Kansas, Dec. 16 Kansans wanting to have the first baby of the year 2000 will have to do it without a lot of help.

Lawrence Memorial Hospital is banning induced labor on New Years Eve unless its deemed medically necessary. In Wichita, OB-Gyns tell us hospitals have turned down requests to schedule C-Sections late on the evening of December 31st. While many cities are planning huge gift packages, so far in Wichita, we havent heard of any major incentive for baby Y2K besides the title and media attention.

I have just gone from being a 2.5 to a 10.0 from reading this article. Move over Gary there is a new doomer in town. We probably won't even make it to Dec. 20th if this article is correct. Doomed I tell ye, doomed.

It's a little late to tell people not to try to have babies on January 1, 2000!

Gag! This is the kind of crap that makes me sick - people trying to induce labor or have C-sections to just have a baby at a certain time! Glad they aren't my parents.

This sounds like a policy decision, not a Y2K bug problem.

They should have "discouraged" people last spring. It's a little late now!

sheesh
