Here it is nearly the end of the year, and it suddenly dawns on you: Hey, there's a lot of hoopla going about with this Y2K thing. Is my favorite game Y2K compliant?

The short answer is: definitely hazy...

[snip to end]

There's tons of info here. Prior to this Y2k thingy, the internet (for me, anyhow) was where I played games (I was the highest rated backgammon player in the world at one site!). I hope to return to those halcyon gaming days soon.

Anyhow, I found this link interesting, and pass it along as a public service to other gamers out there...

In this house, we can play pool for hours...and darts..the definative basement games! Perfectly y2k compliant! Albeit we'll be playing by oil lamp light...but still!

Steve, just between you and me, the chances of anyone in this forum playing games is remote, at best. I think everyone here is trying to figure out how to keep their loved ones out of "harms way", no matter how those folks (we are trying to persuade) want to believe "in their hearts" that this is just a BITR. It's becoming increasingly more difficult to get even the semi "get its" to pay attention based on the info they are being bombarded with on a regular basis.

Prepare for a "three day storm", give me a break. If this turns out to be a simple fix, in a short period of time, it will be obvious to me to check into some type of "Mental Health Facility" Anything else would mean that I'm the one who doesn't have a clue, I think we are in a touch of trouble coming up. Less than six months until we know for sure. Rollover is only going to be the beginning, but then again, time will tell. Would not hurt my feelings to be totally wrong, actually, I'd prefer that, than to what I anticpate.

I hope my Age of Empires II is compliant... And don't forget about Delta Force, Quake, Rainbow Six and Close Combat III and IV....

IF not... it's time to dust of the REAL chessboard and teach my wife chess..
