As D-day approaches a sense of calm prevails...greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
Just a few more days and I am feeling calmer and calmer. If you would have seen me this time last year you would have seen a chicken with his head cut off trying to gather up supplies. I have been researching Y2K big time since early 98 & have had the majority of preps in place since June 98. I began withdrawing my $$$ when it was still politically correct to take MONEY out of ones own bank. I purchased a good chunk of gold when it was in the $ 257/oz range. I am prepared for come what may - and realize that there is only so much one can do. At this point what ever happens will happen. I am bracing for an 8 but seeing TPTB in action cannot rule out a PERFECT 10.The last month, while watching everything unfold - I have been busy with my favorite project - my 9 week old son (No folks that was not part of our prep list) just a WONDERFUL accident.
Anyway just wanted to give you the perspective of a doomer who is taking time to enjoy the holiday season with his family in PEACE of mind. What ever happens (I expect major crashes), I have given security to my family, friends and neighbors and will be doing spending the holidays with out STRESS that something may go seriously wrong!!!
Over the past 6 weeks I have been noticing a strong sense of anger and hostility from the DGI's and the Pollys. I could not imagine the feelings I would have 11 days before CDC if I had not taken the time to adequately prepare my family for any problems that may arise. Even Ko-skin-em has repeatedly said, "no one truly knows what will happen".
I hope you all have a great wonderful STRESS free holiday season.
See you all on the other side

Is this board getting more hostile, nasty, viscious, & plain mean, or am I just imagining it?Some of us may be getting calm, but you wouldn't know it to read some of these posts.

Thanks Matt, weve done the same here in our home. We are actually going to go out and join the rest of the sheeple and get a few gifts but the gifts we get will be essentials, ie. clothing, sleeping bags, shoes etc. God bless us all

Gotta agree with you Matt. It feels GREAT to have all the preps done and to finally be able to relax a little bit.I've noticed that many DGI and polly acquaintances have been getting more nervous lately. Oh well, not my problem!!! :-)
