Gates and DO NOT ENTER signs being placed on interstate ramps in Hampton Roads, VA area?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Can anyone confirm the report on Gary North's website about Road Closed and Do Not Enter signs on 123 intersections in Chesapeake, VA, plus gates being placed on I-64 ramps? Hokie? You there, son?

Has anyone seen this elsewhere in the country?

About Those Signs Along The Interstsates...

You know, I posted earlier about that Nike plant there with razor wire. The building is used as a school for delinquents. Reminds me of "Back to the Future" when the Michael Fox goes back in time to see this jailbird as an infant in a playpen. Fox says "Get used to these bars kid!"

I bought a camera tonight. Let me unload my groceries, then I'll go take piuctures. Got local news on now, which is showing Chesapeake's plastic covered stop signs. Anchor said they were preps for Y2K. They just interviewed an officer at Norfolk naval Base (remember, FEMA's new headquarters?) They had a stink cloud release today, and got the officer on mike to assure everyone this cloud might have stunk, but it was not dangerous. they didn't say what it was. They say more details in the paper tomorrow on y2k, so here is the url:

Now I guess FEMA's local paper...

Government releases a stink cloud (and does not reveal just what it is) but says "not to worry". I know I'm reassured!!!

Hey, you plantation slaves, get back to work and quit asking questions. If and when we want to tell you something, we'll let you know.

Yup, thos old aluminum Stop signs are not Y2K compliant. Something is going to happen to them after 31 DEC 99. That's the real reason behind the sign replacement.

I am not the usual poster to this board as the nickname may dictate, but the latest news on this story is that it was a sulpher cloud released from some pipe work being done on the base.

OK, got back from my night run; no evidence on Hampton Roads roadways as of 11pm EST.
