This is not just "a friend of a friend said this". What's the motive for so many people wasting time to making up all these things? I am one of those lurkers here, having read tons of messages from both sides during the last 10 months or so. I used to argue and scoff at the "doomers". An aquaintence whom I found out has done much testing for a Fortune 500 firm in CA. just told me, " Many computer professional don't believe because they have never done testing. You have to do testing to know that the Fixes may not work. There are so many errors The test are only simple simulationsnot the real thing with many customers and transactionsAll software programs have problems. " I have just turned into a serious believer in Y2K. Many of you paid a lot to buy insurance to protect you from unlikely event such as your house being burned down. It's the prudent thing to do. I'll bet now there is a much greater chance that something will go wrong that will make our lives miserable than our house getting burned down. Too bad, a little late for me , but I can at least get as much food and water I can before Christmas. After Christmas, the line will get longer.

They mentioned about "red cards" on that forum. I live in PA and I haven't seen these cards. Not saying that they don't exsist but, my dad is a State Constable (he has equal authority as a state trooper) and he did'nt mention any "red card". I will ask him tomorrow, though. I'll keep you posted. If he does have one, I'll scan it and post it. Promise!!

Well I don't get involved with US security much (if ever) but this has come up before and is to be used in a state of emergency (this from c4i for one). What really has to be determined is IF it will be a state of emergency.

Bottom line cin, "IT DIDN'T HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS!!!" Get it?? A couple of growing seasons ago, a HONEST appraisal of the situation, and a good swift edict in the A** ("You must prepare, because..") could have saved lives. Hell, maybe even if it took a case of Wag the dog, to get JQP to get ready. Scare them into prepping! But alas, now it is too late. Only time will tell how it will play out. So little time, so much at stake. God help us all.

I am not able to understand why there is so much bickering between people, regardless of circumstances. When a person suddenly discovers that he must protect his family and loved ones, I do not find that something to scoff at. God bless the fellow, and God speed to him and his loved ones. We should all work together and forget our weaknesses for the moment, and understand we all human with all the human weaknesses, and uphold each other at t time like this, not crush them under foot. Judge not lest ye be judged.

Before anyone else cranks up the flame thrower, spend the 5 or 10 minutes (I know reading speed varies) and go actually READ the contents of Michael Hyatts thread. Then you will see why the change of heart. Then you will see that there is something to what has been posted.
