Has FreeRepublic experience y2k meltdown?

FreeRepublic has been down for over 24 hours. Any Freepers here know what's going on? Y2K? Cyber attack?

FreeRepublic stopped its y2k thread months ago. Revenge of the nerds.

Free Republic had a problem with their ISP. I'm not a "techy", but it had something to do with the routing and muddling the "number address". Free Republic founder, Jim Robinson, has said: "We'll be using this URL for 7 to 10 days. And then we'll switch to http://www.FreeRepublic.com and everybody will have to toss their cookies and get new ones. You may be able to access www.FreeRepublic.com before then, and hopefully it will redirect to http://24.142.63.193, otherwise we'll have problems with logins."

There used to be a Y2K thread, but when they re-did the site, it was gone, as far as I could tell.

I don't know if there now is a specific Y2K thread, but there are many articles posted about the possible coming Y2K problems...I usually try a ctrl-f to find y2k articles, if that helps?
