Bulldog...if prayer will do the trick, you have this family's prayers. God be with you....sort of puts Y2k into a new perspective doesn't it? Taz

-- Taz (Tassi123@aol.com), December 25, 1999.

bulldog, there are more healing options now with leukemia than ever before. You are going to a good hospital. Your family has our prayers. Tell Chelsea that there is a lot doctors and nurses can do to help her body, and that she will be learning a lot of medicine and science stuff. Many children's curiosity and interest in learning bring them through this with flying colors. God bless your family.

-- Ashton & Leska in Cascadia (allaha@earthlink.net), December 25, 1999.

Our prayers are with you and your little Chelsea. I was just watching my 3 y.o. son playing with his new stuff and I was amazed with how they grow so quickly. I tear up just thinking about what you are going through. Don't worry about all this other stuff, just focus on your little girl. God has big shoulders - let him carry your worry - don't let it pull you down! :)

-- Kristi (securxsys@cs.com), December 25, 1999.

Bulldog,

Our prayers and thoughts are with you. I will continually uphold your family before the Lord. What a difficult situation you are faced with. You will be on our hearts and minds. Take some warm clothes and a flashlight, just in case. Mary

I've a hip with bone marrow. It's better than a prayer.

Our family will include you in our nightly Rosary. May Our Lord hold you close to His Heart as you go through this hard time, and may you draw strength from your family and friends. Please keep us posted, and give the wee Chelsea a hug from all 8 of us. And please let us know if you need anything.

Blessings...Mary

Bulldog, I too have a 6 yr old daughter....and I just want to tell you, that there is NOTHING more powerful than prayer, lift your daughter before the Lord, and seek His help. Jesus Christ is the one whom will put the wisdom before the doctors to help your child...and they will bring Glory to His name. I and my prayer warriors are lifting your needs continually during this time, please let us know how she and your family are doing, seek the Lord and HIS strength, and remember to rest in His presence when you feel as you can go on no longer, and the road is too rough......He will carry you. Please dont let this damage your faith, for the Lord is ALL things, and All power is in His hands. I pray for total healing for your daughter, blessings and strength for you and the rest of your family, and for the comfort to get through this time...I pray for guidance for you and the doctors, by the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen and Amen. Cindy

Bulldog,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Chelsea.

-- eve (123@4567.com), December 25, 1999.

Bulldog,

My heart goes out to you and your family. My sister-inlaw was diagnosed with leukemia 3 years ago. Today is in complete remission and has never felt better. No other form of cancer has more treatment options and successes. Researchers have made HUGE strides in curing this disease over the past 5 years.

Something to keep in mind is that in the event of major infrastructure problems, hospitals will most likely be the first in line to receive resources. And your little girl will not be on life support equipment that may possibly fail. Your main concern will be an adequate supply of drugs for her chemo. (Do make sure that any computerized equipment used in her treatment is compliant, ie. computerized chemotherapy dosage machines, etc.). Talk with her doctor about what is entailed in a bone marrow transplant. New procedures today allow for the harvesting of the bone marrow from the patient, which eliminates the need for donor screening and the potential for rejection of the marrow.

Insist that treatment be started ASAP to ensure available meds. Talk with the administrator about drug supplies, backup generators and water resources. I would also load up my car with non-perishable food to last several weeks. Take a big supply of "Pedialyte" with you. Chemo patients often suffer from naseau and she will need to be adequately hydrated. Broths, jello, etc. are good. Think, "what would I give to a kid with the stomach flu?" Vitamins would be good to have. Take lots of blankets and warm clothing.

Most of all, remember that no one truly knows what will happen. Your daughter will be in a safe environment and her well being will be everyone's upmost priority.

God bless and your family will be in my prayers.

Roland

Bulldog,

John Hopkins is an excellent hospital, your daughter will be in good hands. Check with the hospital for a Ronald McDonald house (or similar housing) to stay at. It will help your family emotionally, physically and finacially.

Our prayers you already have, if you need anything else let us know.

God Bless and keep you,

Dian and family

-- Dian (bdp@accessunited.com), December 25, 1999.

You and yours are in my prayers, and I'd ask that you pray for my sister. She was vehemently "DGI" until last week, when she heard something on the news that sent her running to the store in a panic to buy macaroni, canned food, etc. She has three kids, and our 88 year old father (they're in NM, I'm in MI). She's just been diagnosed with breast cancer, and is going in for a double mastectomy in two days. She *was* going to put it off until after end of year, I did manage to persuade her not to put it off.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 25, 1999.

Bulldog,

Keep the faith and give her over to the LORD. Hubby was sick with Hep C for 3 years, has been better since '92 and PCR NEG since '95. When I finally gave in and asked for HIS WILL and strength to carry on if he chose to take him. If there is anything I can do don't think twice about asking. And yes my prayers are with you and yours. Jo

Dear Great Heavenly Father, who created the universe and all the people in this universe, I ask for a very special moment of your time. The Gossling family is going through a very challenging period in their lives right now. Chelsea, their 6 year old daughter, has become ill with leukemia which I am sure you are already aware of Lord. Lord, Im sure it's probably because of some man-made toxin, emf or other environmental reasons that this sickness has occured, to no fault of this special family or little girl. Lord, please consider this family in your heart knowing how they love their little girl. I ask, Lord, that you bring a special HEALING MIRACLE, IN THE NAME JESUS CHRIST, TO THIS LITTLE GIRL, if it is your will to do so, to renew and strengten the message of the Gospel that with God all things are possible. Loving Heavenly Father, thank you for taking time to listen to my prayer for healing for Chelsea and her family. In the name of your most precious son, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.

Hang in there Bulldog!! I know how disorienting the whole situation is. Turns your whole world upside down. Put my son through four surgeries at age 4/5,..different illness but we survived it. I will tell you this..I have two family friends who had and survived leukemia, and are doing just fine. You'll hear a lot of that. And Chelsea will be a survivor too. She'll show you strength you didn't even know she had.

GI's in Memphis area should contact Bulldog and give them support!! This is one of your own! You are in my prayers Honey. -kritter

Bulldog,

One of God's many attribute's is that He is Jehovah Rophe, the God who Heals. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He loves you and your daughter. Call on Him and watch Him work on your behalf. I pray His great mercy and power in your lives today. Trust Him completely.

Oh Heavenly Creator, the one and true Master Physician, we pray that You shall hold your daughter, Chelsea, in Your loving and healing arms. Grant onto her wellness of mind, body, and spirit. Allow her body to be rid of the Leukemia which troubles her.

Oh Heavenly Creator, the one and true Counselor and Comforter, we pray that You shall hold Your daughter, Chelsea, her family, and her friends in your loving and healing arms. Grant unto them the serenity that comes from the knowledge that all shall be unto Your Will and bless them with peace of mind and spirit and comfort their hearts.

Oh Heavenly Creator, Giver of Life, we humbly ask that You extend Your blessings upon all who have fallen into sickness and disease. Bless them with healing and strength. We humbly pray that You may relieve them of their suffering and restore them to wholeness and wellness. We humbly beseech You to watch over all of Your children, that they may know peace, happiness, joy, balance, and the true meaning of Love!

Aho!

To all my friends/family on TB2000;

May each of you know that you are most loved. That Creator does according to HIS/HER Will. That in time, understanding of this will come. Know that in all things there is balance. That it is truly LOVE that makes the world go round.

Fear not, for in the end, ALL things shall be as they are supposed to be!

Bulldog, please send the following information, c/o Diane, at y2ktimebomb2000@yahoo.com; ask her to forward it to me.

An address where we can send things for your daughter (immediately coming to mind are pretty nighties, slippers, toys, books, get-well cards).

Chelsea's sizes for clothes and slippers.

Chelsea's favorite colors.

Whatever else you think she might like.

And anything you and your other family members might need.

All you have to do is let us know and many members of this forum will be at least as generous to your family as they were to Hurricane Floyd victims.

We want to help--please let us.

I am sure they could use some money too. Dig into those pockets TBers. I am sure we can all drag a little from our cash stash. Taz

Dear Bulldog,

When my son was born, he was very ill. I was scared out of my wits. A wonderful woman led me to some scriptures for healing and strength. I used to sit with my son and pray Psalm 103 and Psalm 91 over him. Sometimes the thoughts and words don't come easily when you are scared and in pain. Your precious little one is precious to God, too. God bless you and Chelsea and we will be lifting you up to the Savior in prayer. Peace be with you...

Bulldog, big prayers. Ron, for your sister, too.

-- Mara (MaraWayne@aol.com), December 25, 1999.

Bulldog, Chelsea and your family will be in my prayers.

My mom will be in hospital at rollover too. I found talking with some of the Y2k staff there helped reassure me. After about 20 minutes of searching by the hospital help desk to figure out who to speak with, she finally put me right through to the Director of Information Technology. Evidently the question has not really been raised much. I had a good run-down from him on various ways the hospital is preparing (such a pleasure to talk with someone who has to professionally GI bigtime). He gave me the number of the Director of Telecommunications to discuss HAM radio contacts if the phone lines went down. She seemed even more savvy than him, as is often the case with the persons who are really doing the work rather than having all the results reported to them. Find out who is really the savvy person in the hospital contingency structure.

On a practical note, while I suspect they are set to have emergency lighting, a flashlight wouldn't hurt. I like those "snake" flashlights with the long flexible bodies -- you can curve them in a U around your neck and have your hands free.Remember to make any supplies you bring not look tempting to thieves in your car.

If there are problems at rollover, and one of you can stay with your daughter, remember that many of the other kids may not be able to have their parents there and may need reassurance. You may want to talk with the ward staff beforehand to see how best you can help.

Bulldog + family:

Our family (5 kids) prays every night together. We'll all be lifting up Chelsea and the whole family, believing the Lord Jesus Christ will heal her, that He will direct the physicians and specialists throughout this whole thing and that Chelsea will be touched. God answers prayer. The Lord anxiously awaits us to approach the throne and seek Him.

It really encourages me to see so many on this forum respond like this. You should be encouraged as well, knowing you won't go through this alone.

Please know that many, many of us are praying and are more than willing to to help in any way that we are able. Whether that be financially, materially, encouragement, prayers, suggestions, research, etc. PLEASE, PLEASE - don't hesitate for a moment to ask if there is a need. Many here have the resources to help.

Keep in touch. Please update us so we know how direct our prayers. You're not walking through this alone. Call on the Lord and place your burden on His shoulders.

Lord bless,

Charlie + family

Bulldog, you and yours will be in our prayers.

-- Mr. Mike (mikeabn@aol.com), December 25, 1999.

Almighty God, they are troubled by their daughters illness, attacked on every side. Helpless to help themselves. I cry out to you for deliverance and healing. In your power crush their enemies. flood their drought with the wellspring of your living water. In their day of trouble, heal & deliever for Your names sake. Amen

From book on praying with Smith Wigglesworth My prayers are with you. I will give the request to your prayer chain.

Bulldog and Ron, There are so many wonderful and precious people here. It brings tears to my eyes to read of everyones love for each other here. All of you have been such a blessing to me. Our family will be lifting up your daughter and Ron's sister too. With all these prayers going up, you can be at peace and watch the mighty hand of God at work. We in this family, would love to help in anyway we can. God Bless!

-- Lori (ABaby72@aol.com), December 25, 1999.

Consider it done, bulldog. And it will continue.

Give Chelsea a hug and a kiss for me and tell her that her Guardian Angel will be right there, holding her hand.

-- Wilferd (WilferdW@aol.com), December 25, 1999.

God bless you again, my friend.

I'm saving this thread, and will say prayers for your family again, tonight.

For what it's worth, I truly believe your family will receive a blessing from the prayers submitted by this forum.

I would sign this off with "roses" if I knew how to do so.

Roses are a very special blessing in my neck of the woods. Maybe Diane will help me out. I will also post this elswhere, and perhaps others may be able to come up with that particular symbol.

God bless.

Bulldog,

You picked a world-renowned hospital. It's been said before, but I will remember you in my prayers

-- PD (PaulDMaher@att.worldnet.com), December 25, 1999.

Thanks, everyone.

To those for whom it means something, after I became a Christian in the late '60s, my sister mocked me mercilessly. Then, perhaps a year later, she went with me to a bible study, met some people, and soon became one herself. A year or so later, she met "a guy", married him, and rather than her changing him (her plan), he changed her. Since then, she's wanted to have nothing to do with Christianity, period. Last week, for the first time in decades, she asked me to pray for her.

Bulldog,

Our prayers and thoughts are with you, God bless.

I'll be praying for her as well bulldog, may she recover quickly. Good luck to her and you...

-- Crono (Crono@timesend.com), December 26, 1999.

Bulldog,

Chelsea and your family are in my prayers. God bless you and keep you. It will be better for you, Daddy, once you've settled her into the hospital and talked to the doctors. You'll know what to expect and what course of action will be taken. The staff will be really good with her. Try very hard to make sure you and your wife don't skip meals, etc. - you need to take care of yourselves so that you can give her your best. Also, please check in with us often.

Ron, I'll remember your sister in my prayers, too. Good for you for urging her to go ahead and have the surgery now! It's doubly good timing...although it may sound odd, studies have shown that women who have surgery on the waning phase of the moon have less complications and bleeding afterwards, along with a shorter recovery time.

May God be with both your families.

-- Jill D. (jdance@mindspring.com), December 26, 1999.

(((Bulldog)))

Yes, our prayers are with you, Chelsea and your family, too.

Ron, thanks for sharing about your sister. I'll pray for her and her family and for your peace of mind.

God bless you all.

Is this a real post? I thought John Hopkins was in Baltimore. In any event, I am a bone marrow donor also. Make sure she is not on a Hamilton ventilator during the rollover, they are not Y2k compliant. Actually, they can be made Y2k compliant by the flip of a switch, but the staff will need to contact the manufacturer to know how to do this.

-- Amy Leone (leoneamy@aol.com), December 27, 1999.

Amy, you are right, Johns Hopkins is in Baltimore. However, Bulldog is a long-time poster here and I am sure her plea is legitimate. Either she is flying from Memphis to Baltimore or, in her confusion, she typed JH instead of St. Judes which IS in Memphis.

Bulldog hasn't contacted Diane yet, which is understandable. As soon as I have some tangible information, I will let you all know how to help.

-- Old Git (anon@spamproblems.com), December 27, 1999.
