Attention Texas Posters

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Rollover/Back-Up Forum : One Thread

OK, maybe you Louisiana and Oklahomans too. I was going to copy all the e-mails from the Texas thread this morning and found someone had destroyed the old forum. Did LZach get a Texas forum up and running? My real name is Cleman Simpson, live between Longview and Carthage. Or between Marshall and Henderson, depending on which way your mind is twisted, lol. E-mail is clem@usac.net, feel free to drop me a line if you don't want to post your pq's on the net.

I was wondering about this as well. Please post anything you hear here.

Hey Nikoli/Clem!

Glad you made it here! There is a Texas forum that is up and running - it was put up by KCrowley that posts on TB2000. I did not see any since in duplicating his efforts.

I just emailed you the address. He does not want it publically announced for the obvious reasons. I also sent it to all other real addys that posted on that thread.

Peace and see you over there!

oh, and by the way, any other Texans/Louisianians/Oklahomians that needs the URL, just drop me a line and I will get it to you!

Hi Nikoli and Lisa...

I e-mailed you both with my address...many thanks.

O.K. Texas friends, here is what I observed today. Stopped at the Walmart in Georgetown at I35 and Highway 29; NO water of any kind except flavored, NO Coleman fuel or fuel of any kind in Camping supplies, several Coleman lanterns and a few stoves; T.P starting to be picked over, maybe half the allotted shelf space left, batteries in ample supply. Georgetown Albertsons at I 35 and 2338 (?); half a dozen gallons of water although 95% of shelf empty (and check out clerk commented they sold more water today than they sold all year - note- merely speculation from her), T.P. supply O.K. and plenty of canned goods. Belton Wamart on Highway 317; NO water except flavored water, NO Coleman fuel (gallons)or any other fuel, except a dozen or so small bottles of propane, T.P. starting to get picked over, plenty of batteries. Belton I.G.A. grocery store next to Walmart; NO water, ample canned goods. Filled up with Diamond Shamrock at I35 and Dessau in Austin, where gas was $118.9 and 75% of pumps were in use. Did not notice any lines at gas stations the rest of the way home, although the ones I did observe were at least 50% in use. I am beginning to feel sorry for those who actually do loose water. Thankfully, the next week appears to be a warm one. Lots of traffic both ways, both directions, however, no signs of curtailed movement except by the large number of snowbirds causing Oklahoma roadblocks.
