The U5000/167Mhz crash

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Rollover/Back-Up Forum : One Thread

If you want to give me access to the core file from /var/adm/crash/xxx where the xxx represents the hostname, I will analyze your crash and help you reconfigure so that you will simply give progressively longer response times the next time you have this "attack" against your server. There is no particular reason I can imagine that your system should have paniced, otherwise there is no real reason to take down the thread as you have. Also, I can offer you some performance monitoring software that far exceeds sar, iostat, vmstat, etc if you are running Solaris 2.5.1 or 2.6. Particularly if you are on 2.6 we can apply DRM3 to the problem.
