Just talked to my parents in Farmington,N.M. They were talking to a friend who is in the N.G. in Farmington. He told them that they were at defcon 2 right now and was expected to go to defcon 3 shortly. Last week my Dad was talking to a Dept. of Transportation official. The Dept. of Trans said that they stoppped a military truck last week as it was on its way to Phonix. It had some type of violation. After they pulled it over they looked in the back. Surprized them quite a bit. The truck was full of Signs that said "Martial Law". Accordding to the papers the truck driver had, he was headed for Los Angeles. Can anyone verify this. I don't think my parents would lie about this. They were DGI up until 5 hours ago.

Ummm.... well if they are going from DEFCON 2 to DEFCON 3 then that means that they are downgrading from "Further Increase in force readiness, but less than maximum readiness"

to...

Increase in force readiness above normal readiness

DEFCON 1 is Maximum Combat Readiness...

DEFCON 2 Further Increase in force readiness, but less than maximum readiness

DEFCON 3 Increase in force readiness above normal readiness

DEFCON 4 Normal, increased intelligence and strengthened security measures

DEFCON 5 Normal Peacetime Readiness

Do you need to recheck your info or are you trying to incite some undue hysteria? Plus.. watch out for parents... I've been told they lie too...

Sorry about the spelling. I have been a lurker here for the last 3 months. I was just adding something meaningful here. Don't get picky over my spelling. Is there somebody out there who can give us the meaning behind the 5 different defcon ratings. I am pretty sure defcon 3 involves marshall law. If you knew anything about the four corner region(Colorado,New Mexico,Arizona,Utah)- it is sparesly inhabited. Farmington,N.M. is the largest town in the area(35,000). There are no major highwaysgoing through there, or any railroads.Does anybody have a meaningful answer.

Peter, don't mean to doubt your story, anything is possible. I would just like to hear from 1 NG real person on this forum what their status is. And as to the signs about martial law, it has been reported all over the country. Why doesn't someone follow them and take pictures. I live near Idaho(in NE Oregon) and someone claimed they saw them near C'Ordelene(spelling!). If it was me who saw them,I would drop everything and follow the truck as far as I could. I would get on my cell phone and get help to get to the bottom of it. So for now I will just hide and watch.
