Tonight: Koskinen vs. Price Costco! LOL

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Rollover/Back-Up Forum : One Thread

Boy, it's nice to have this forum back! Thanks, sysops and Mr. Greenspun!

As I pulled into the parking space outside Costco after work tonight, Kosky's interview today was being aired on the radio. He insisted that no one was out panic buying, that the public had been reassured by the government that there was no need for that...no kidding!

When I entered the store, apparently the public hadn't been listening entirely to Mr. K, because the place was mobbed, and almost every single cart held LOTS of water, paper products, canned goods, flashlights, power surge bars, sterno by the case, etc. Some were using flatbeds rather than carts. In our long wait on line, I shared Koskinen's interview and said, "Apparently he hasn't visited Costco today," and people were all laughing knowingly, and we had an open, for the FIRST time, talk about preping!!!!

And last night at the gas station, cars were in lines on both sides of the kerosene pump, and one man was filling 10 large metal cans!

Between last night at 6 pm and tonight at 7 pn, the local Wallieworld sold approximately 90 2.5 gallon gas cans....and they weren't on sale.

My local Costco was business as usual, except that anything that resembled a party supply was mostly sold out.
