greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread

Interesting!

12/31/1999 00:59:10 Hawaii Time, ( 50 seconds to 1AM, News Year Eve, HI time, Near as I can figure, that's 50 seconds to 11 PM New Years EVE Night, New Zealand time, Channels 6 and 10 (our local ABC and Public TV affilliates) are showing us the Y2K rollover in New Zealand. How do they show us the rollover to 1/1/2000 on TV a whole hour BEFORE it HAPPENS??????????????

Some kind of daylight savings? Seems like a bit of a conspiracy theory...:)

Currently NZ is GMT +13 (on daylight saving) and Hawaii GMT -10

That makes the 23 hours you are looking for.
