Won't it be something if North America slowly looses power but Russia and China don't shut down?

Outages DO happen for other reasons, after all... drunks driving their cars into poles, vandalism, lightening, etc.

Folks, the grid working is GOOD news. So what if we were wrong, & our egos are bruised a bit. Isn't having electricity more important than our damn egos?

Reality check, everyone.

"So what if we were wrong, & our egos are bruised a bit. Isn't having electricity more important than our damn egos? "

This statement really has nothing to do with my post. Why would you even respond if you have not worth wile to contribute.

And your handle are you somekind of moron or something?

If your ego is bruised or whatever fine start your own crybaby thread but stay off mine.

Folks ... as a GI, if we can be as fortunate as the rest of the world ... I will be so overflowing with joy and thankfulness! And I will give credit where credit is due .... to all those officials in government and in corporations who I questioned. If the world gets through this, it is really an amazing feat! And if we prepped more than most and worried more than most .... so what! Maybe in some way we provided an incentive to all those working on fixing Y2K to keep working their tails off! Whatever, whoever .... it looks like it worked folks! RELIEF OVERCOMES, and now we can all get on with our lives.

I was not aware that North America had the rollover yet. Why is everyone acting like it did? Look, ppl, if the lights go out, FINE. If not, BETTER. Better to be prepared than caught in a blizzard with your knickers around your ankles. This thing will snowball. The government isn't about to spoil all the good Millenium programming just for accurate reporting. Notice how the Japan reactor thing has grown from one to THREE incidents in the course of a few hours??? AND apparently all of them happened around the same time, SO I THINK that the media tried to downplay the situation as long as it could. I don't think the world is going to end (at least I HOPE not), but neither do I buy all the media hype about everything being so wonderful and glitch free.
