Officials from Iowa's Department of Transportation and the FFA are swiftly investigating the source of the Y2K-related glitch.

Some of the airports effected include Council Bluffs, Red Oak, Shenandoah, and Creston.

Answers

This was reclassified as an unsubstantiatied rumor as no confirming info was provided. We checked with the ICC and John Koskinen reports that:

"Sorry for the delayed report -- things keep running on here but we're finally slowing down. The Iowa rumor turned out to be just that. No confirmation anywhere along the line, including in Iowa. Happy New Year. I think we're getting close to closure. All the best"

According to this it must have been on tonight's news and they won't get the script on the website until tomorrow. I re-posted here to see if anyone else could verify or dispute this.
