Anyone Else Having East-to-West Coast Link Problems?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I work out of my home and connect to the world with a pair of V.90 modems. I'm in southwest VA and have good support from my ISP. This evening I have not been able to connect with organizations in Chicago or StLouis. No matter who I try or what protocol I use (web, email, ftp, telnet) I get nothing but timeouts. When I trace the route I get no response after links into Cincinnati, Indy, Memphis, even Dallas, but nothing into Chicago or StLouis.

Any thoughts?

Thanks SP... that's what I thought. Glad I have my provisions. Do you think that running my windgen at this end will help?

I also work out of my home on the West Coast. I usually connect to my organization's computer in VA. Today, response has been very sluggish, and I get disconnected if I am idle more than 5 minutes (the official limit is 1 hr)
