Who can I blame for this....

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

While I was at Farm & Fleet in Woodstock IL (far away from Evanston), I bought a couple of kerosene heaters and

a nice new $850 9hp Track-Drive SnowThrower!
No more aching backs!
No more sweeping the piles of snow off the stones path in the back!
Plow the sidewalks and have women come out of their homes and stuff money in my coat pocket!

Last year at this time we had 22 inches of snow to dig through. 5 foot high drifts.

I expected SOMETHING by now! But just the other day it was 50degrees!

I am SO disappointed. Who's to blame for this? Should I return the snowthrower and run back to get it when it starts snowing?

I don't know, it's heavy. I already put it together. I was mislead. That's right:
Farmers Almanac 2000;
The Weather Channel;
Tom Skilling;
Farm & Fleet's display.

Fear mongers ALL! All of em! All with an agenda, to sell me a load of goods! They should publicly apologize to EVERYONE who bought a snowthrower for this year!

I was led to believe there would be SNOW and LOTS OF IT!

I say the TRIBUNAL STARTS NOW!

Sorry, Plonk, I don't have any recipes for snowblowers, but if you give me a minute I'll see what I can come up with from my recipe library.

Give you $100 for it.

You can sell it at a premium price here in Texas.

Just advertise it as a manure spreader.

Instead of snow, vaccum up(or whatever the Hell it does; I've never seen one as I've never seen snow for more than a few days in this part of Texas)gasoline with it, and as it spits out the other side, spark it up with your Bic lighter.

Voila! Instant, industrial-size flame weeder!

Fire is fun,

No, I don't want any money for my snowthrower.

I want the ENTIRE SNOWTHROWER INDUSTRY to PAY!

How many people were misled into purchasing an expensive snowthrower when ANYONE WHO ACTUALLY LIVES IN THE "SNOW BELT" KNOWS THAT THE SNOW JUST MELTS BY ITSELF !!!!!!!!!!!

This stuff happens ALL THE TIME!!!!!

It SNOWS!

It MELTS!

it's time to get on with your lives people! It AIN'T gonna snow this year!

It's OVER!

(and don't get me started on the Car Wash Industry....)

Plonk!

LOL! Very good tongue in cheek!

Sadly, individual responsibility is dead as a mainstream societal ideal. In our physically and mentally lazy society it is much easier to be a victim. As an ideal citizen I will do my part: I blame my parents that I wasn't born into affluence which I so rightly deserve. I blame my teachers for not educating me to my fullest potential. I blame the government for my lack of health care, social services and not providing me with a job where I don't have to think or work too hard yet receive excellent pay.

And since I have been influenced by those on this board with pessimistic Y2K views, I BLAME YOU most of all for my devastating financial condition, my suicidal depressive mental condition, my questionable moral condition and my overly stressed physical condition. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!! AND I BLAME YOU!!!

Apologies without checks attached will be discarded. Thank you.

Hey PLonk!!! I am in Lake Geneva area, Walworth, WI, you wanna sell your snow thrower??? LOL

-- Jess (alisaunde@aol.com), January 04, 2000.

Hang onto it, you're gonna need it. As soon as the warming cycle is complete we're going into an ice age. I don't know how much a snowblower will help when a glacier moves into your neighborhood, but what the heck, never say die!

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), January 04, 2000.

Do you think I could convert it to a rototiller? We don't get snow here.

-- ??? (????@????.xcom), January 04, 2000.

I've got to get into a class action suit.

It's been about 60 degrees, or less, here in L.A. since the weekend of the rollover. Argh!!! At night, it's getting into the low to mid 40s!

Who can I see about this? What am I supposed to do with my air conditioner? How the heck can I get a heater?

Sheesh... plonk, this is an ABSOLUTE conspiracy of the Highest Order :-)
