Poole Declares Y2K Over & Bids Farewell

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Oldtimers will recall the antics of pollytroll Stephen M. Poole, CET as he worked hard to disrupt this forum. His routine ended when he was booted, then returned under alias to plant a false post from the doomer perspective. His post ended up being used as source material in national press coverage of industry insiders spilling the beans on Y2K problem cover-ups.

Right now he's over on CSY2K making his farewell speech and looking for a curtain call. Looks like he's taking credit for singlehandedly defeating Y2K and the Doomer Legions. If he claimed anymore credit there won't be anything left for CPR, BKS or Pro to claim glory over, or for Al Gore to claim credit for during his campaign.

If anyone wants to go bid a not so fond farewell it's a pretty recent thread, maybe 8:30pm or so.

It's about time.

Now he can make himself useful again by chasing crop circles or some such.

And let us not forget the immportal words of cpr on Phoole's hoax:

Ihttp://stand77.com/wwwboard/messages/2953.html

t wasn't a lie. It was a deliberately planted false story.

And many of us knew long before hand off line that he was going to do it. The reaction of the Cult was beyond what we expected.

It makes nice additions to future text books of the Net inducing hysteria.

Most of the time, the people online on EY or other forums haven't a clue about how they are being deliberately manipulated.

I for one, now believe that many of the "troll" posts are planted by the "moderators" both on EY's PIT and Hyatt's Hell.

EY enters the picture whenever he needs to get the "fear level" bubbling up.

Now if he and his friends could just be persuaded to say goodbye to this foum, in all of their troll disguises, too.

It's really sad that all of the Debonker's trolls won't leave this community in peace to say their goodbyes, or not, as they choose.

Please, foks, resist the urge to "troll" the Debonker's board and disrupt their goodbyes. It is the quality of the majority of the posters at TB2000 that has always distinguished them from certain pollies.

Dear doom morons. If you had ever taken the time to read Poole's prognostications about Y2K ramifications, you'd have seen he was--and still is---the only 'prophet' still standing. HIS was nearest to the pin, and even so, you'd rather engage in name calling. Interesting that on a site that still maintains Y2K is a major disaster waiting to happen (just keep watching!), his words were dismissed and probably never read to begin with. Aw, but then, you have betetr things to do, like devise strategies on how to make Dennis a major media star and how to pull verses from your favorite doom apocalyptic that'll keep the paranoia going for another year.

The moniker 'snooze button' has never been more appropriate.

Bad Company - talk about an appropriate moniker. You are exactly that.

Bad Company,...just a gentle reminder about soething more important than Y2K. Read the first sentence of your 1st post and compare to 1st sentence of 2nd post.

Now I'm worried about my old friend Stephen. What is he going to do with his life? He had his own anti-doom web site. He was a regular here for months. He IS a regular on csy2k and on the Yahoo Y2K forum. He had a full-time job bashing us poor doomers. What will he do now?

Tick... Tock... <:00=
