Flu shots

Do you think getting a flu shot is a good idea? Why or why not?

I think it's a good idea, because otherwise if you get the flu and the whole family is moaning in bed for a week, there's not anyone else you can shift the blame onto! *8)

I don't know when getting a flu shot became common practice around here. I know that when I was caregiver for my elderly parents in 1989, it was only recommended for those at risk (like my folks) or those working with them.

I was shocked a few years later, when a coworker mentioned that she'd gone to get one (we were proofreaders at a legal publishing firm).

Now they are available at every office building, grocery store, pharmacy. Ten bucks -- an impulse buy!

I guess I don't think there is a problem with them. I did get one this year and last.
