Anybody still reading my posts?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Is there anybody still interested in the
international Y2K situation reading my posts?
It seems that all I get is pollyhole responses.
If my posts are still useful to you, please
let me know, otherwise I'll stop wasting my time.

Sincerely,

Answers

I always read them. please if you want to keep them coming!

Also why don't your posts go all the way across the screen?

-- Johnny (jljtm@bellsouth.net), January 07, 2000.

Spider, Your digging is appreciated, but it is getting more and more cumbersome to read this forum because of the idiots. I would suggest posting on the GICC board, only verifiable information there, and none of the lightweights!

-- cmd0903 (cmd0903@dontcall.com), January 07, 2000.

No, you're fine. Don't be so sensitive.

Kinda sad, the one about the historical archives, though. They don't even have any Democrats up in Norway to rewrite their history, do they? (wink, wink)

-- Grant Naylor (web@srfin.net), January 07, 2000.

YES!...what I'd like to know is where you do your searching. I skim Reuters Technology and AP Technology on breaking news, but there seems to be a dearth of any significant reportables. Do you have other links?

-- TM (mercier7@pdnt.com), January 07, 2000.

Hi Spider, I read them. I'm just getting too tired to respond. Keep posting. You have an audience. I'd apologize for the pollies, but I believe that you already know how useless that is...they'll just keep doing it.

-- Ynott (Ynott@incorruptible.com), January 07, 2000.

Not only do I read every one but I was about to chime in with compleyments just yesterday: thanks for editing your news posts down to pithy manageable size and for the refreshing changes in typeface and format. Always a breather. You post; I read.

Please keep posting, I enjoy them, thanks.

Spider, your efforts are much appreciated.

-- Homer Beanfang (Bats@inbellfry.com), January 07, 2000.

Hey Spider! Yep, still reading & appreciate it. And I 2nd ynott's post as well. (And I'm still reading yours too, ynott-Thanks)

Thanks for the responses, I just needed to
know that I wasn't out here alone.

Johnny
I format my posts in narrow columns so that
they are easier to read.

TM
I have links to individual online newspapers.
I start in NZ and work my way to CA.

Thanks again for letting me know I'm not alone.

Yes...keep 'em comming...

-- Uncle Bob (UNCLB0B@AOL.COM), January 07, 2000.

spider,

I'm interested; please continue to post. Just try to see the attackers as parrots. They make noises, and some of those noises sound like words and sentences, but in many cases I've seen, they never care to give reasons for their newly discovered (ie, post 12/31) "positions"; that part just doesn't matter to them. If in essence there's no "mind" behind the "eruptions", then the words shouldn't hurt as much.

I've certainly seen some nice ones, smart, articulate ones, etc.; I don't speak of them here, just the others.

Keep your chin up, spider

-- eve (123@4567.com), January 07, 2000.

I'm reading fewer threads these days. I come here and only click on the ones with the most interesting titles. I use to spend a couple hours in the morning and at night here. I'm slowly getting away from TB2000. I've deleted all Y2K referenced sites from my bookmarks, cleaned up my e-mail and I'm slowing down. But I do enjoy your posts spider.

-- long timer (longtimerr@longtimerrr.xcom), January 07, 2000.

Spider, Yes, I want the real news. It's still quite important.

-- Mara (MaraWayne@aol.com), January 07, 2000.

Yes please post, and research.

Taking a "breather" myself.

;-D

Spider, of course i read them.

Do not worry about the pollydoodles running all over this board. It is possible to simply ignore them. Try it, you'll like it! Also, if we all ignore them, they will slither away. I promise...

-- edfinn (enopone1@tampabay.rr.com), January 07, 2000.

Yup. I read almost everything you post. Keep it up!

-- Dennis (djolson@pressenter.com), January 07, 2000.

I read every one of them. I skip 70 percent of the posts on this forum, but when I see a familiar name like yours, who always provides useful material, I read the post.

-- Danny (dcox@ix.netcom.com), January 07, 2000.

spider,

Your posts are definitely valued by moi. I'll probably be switching to lurk mode due to time constraints, but I always read your posts!

Spider, I read all of them. Thanks

-- Bill (sticky@2sides.tape), January 07, 2000.

spider,

I read all of them too! Thank you for your posts!

Spider,

Sure I read your posts, please don't stop posting!

-- Deb M. (vmcclell@columbus.rr.com), January 07, 2000.

Hi Spider, everyone:

I'm still reading away here, too-- and still hoping that TB2000 will transmogrify (sp?) into something else as interesting to all of us as y2k was/is.

Hoping,

-- silver ion (ag3@interlog.com), January 07, 2000.

Spider, we're reading :-) The really meaty factual threads have usually elicited little response. Just ask Homer ... but please keep posting your findings of actual events which inform how computer failures can happen, and anything else you find interesting :-)

-- Ashton & Leska in Cascadia (allaha@earthlink.net), January 07, 2000.

Spider, I have followed your stuff for a long time. I appreciate that you are one of the ones who produces verifiable information. Please continue because we all value your input. Bill

-- slammer (billslammer@yahoo.com), January 07, 2000.

Indeed, your posts are valuable! But definitely, the Pollies are coming on like the Chinese in Korea. My machine gun barrel is red hot, the dead pollies are stacking up like cord wood in front of my nest, but MAN they just keep coming over the top!!

I just wanted to add my name to the list to say thanks for past posts and those in the future.

Bookworm - "STILL" living in paranoia !!!!!!

-- Bookworm (bookworm_2@hotmail.com), January 07, 2000.

Hi Spidey!

Thanks for sharing your web with us. It is both informative and very interesting.

U.S. coverage of national news is poor at best and pathetic on the international scene. Learned recently that many major news bureaus have pared down or completely eliminated some of their foreign news desks. What a pity.

We've never had cable television; perhaps there is more international news reporting going on there, but we really only watch a small amount of tv anyway.

Keep up the good work. It's appreciated.

P.S. I was born in Europe of European parents of differing nationalities. I've been fortunate to have travelled a bit and worked over there for a short while in my earlier years. So some of your news is personally relevant to me. Thanks again.

-- Lurkess (Lurkess@Lurking.Net), January 07, 2000.

Still reading and appreciating!

-- Powder (Powder47keg@aol.com), January 07, 2000.

Yes Spider, I read your posts and thank you for taking the time to do so! =)

-- Dee (T1Colt556@aol.com), January 07, 2000.

Yes, Spider, I'm reading them. International news has always been of primary importance to me (even before the y2k computer problem). :) I look for handle of poster as much as I look at topic before I open a thread. And I usually resist opening threads that do not state the topic clearly in the title.

Look on the bright side of the attackers: they keep sending threads to the top!

What everybody up there said!

-- Old Git (anon@spamproblems.com), January 07, 2000.

Please continue and thanks for all your hard work in the past!

-- Tee (teefleur@yahoo.com), January 07, 2000.

Keep up the good work...I check in occasionally and read yours.

Spidey,

Your info is truly useful and appreciated by many here. I agree your postings are a "must read" on this board. Don't let the polly and hostile posters discourage you. We would less without you. Keep it up! Good job!!!

-- Aunt Bee (SheriffAndy@Mayberry.com), January 07, 2000.

Still reading, too. I'm so tired of all the troll venom that has overtaken this forum that I usually only read threads started by recognizable names. Yours, Spider, are ones that I always read.

-- (RUOK@yesiam.com), January 07, 2000.

Spider, Yes, and thank you for sharing your research. Having spent time in Europe and West Africa, I now have a greater interest in world matters.

Your efforts are not in vain, people are listening. (I guess we need to work on that positive feedback thingy)

-- Possible Impact (posim@hotmail.com), January 07, 2000.

Please post on and keep the tradmark width it It makes it more like a newpaper Thanks Dave

-- davebullis (davebullis@aol.com), January 07, 2000.

GICC..where dat?

-- Kyle (fordtbonly@aol.com), January 08, 2000.

Spidey!!!!

Don't you dare stop! We Love You and Your Contributions to this Board!

I am sick of the Pollies, what the Hell are they doing here! Perhaps we are a bit eccentric and out of the mainstream (thank god). But what on earth would that make them YIKES?

-- (karlacalif@aol.com), January 08, 2000.

Kyle GICC

-- Rachel Gibson (rgibson@hotmail.com), January 08, 2000.

Spidey,

I read 'em, too! Like the others, I skip the trolls (mostly) but always read yours. Keep up the good work.
