Miracle in Milan?

Can anyone explain how Italy went from no clue, to fully remediated in just 6 months? It just does not make sense. What the hell is going on?

Italy did not go from no clue to fully remediated. They are NOT remediated.

You will understand this soon enough. Be patient and not indulge in flint-like premature ejaculations.

Hi Paul,

How was your weekend?

Be patient, watch carefully and think.

The amount of verifiable facts about y2k impacts/non-events is very small. Most mainstream media follows PR releases, and public opinion (now backlashinig against y2k...)

None of us will understand the big picture (for many reasons) for some time to come. Meanwhile things are happening all over the world.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and large systems don't suffer meltdowns overnight...

Hey, its the New Millenium! We don't 'solve' problems anymore: We *spin* them!

Really now Earl, where the heck have you been for the last 10 years???

I think you need to see a spin doctor. They're mostly off for the weekend but should be returning to this board first thing tomorrow morning. Seriously Earl, watch and learn.

Thanks Paul, That is just the answer I was expecting. They could not possibly have pulled it off, especially when you take into consideration the complacent attude they had up until that point. Even to a non computer guy like me, this sort of turn around is just too radical to be credible.

The italians didn't have the foresight to rent enough port-a-pottis for their celebration! How the hell could they get everything remediated in time. We don't have enough insiders on the web telling us what systems are down, who isn't get there checks and so forth. I think we've got one lurker at Aviano AB and that's about it.

I've got a friend that was over there for two weeks over rollover. I'll try go get any impressions he had and post.

Earl:

I hope I didn't come across as being other than playfully sarcastic. If my tone above was a little sharp, it was in no way directed at you personally.

Just being playful.8-)
