to locate artist Peter C. Wong

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco Art : One Thread

I am trying to locate an artist, last I heard was in San Francisco, Peter C. Wong, born 1953 Taiwan, moved to S.F. age 18, paints Chinese junks.(pictures of) I own a number of them through inheritance and wish to sell, but want info on artist, values, current location, works, etc. Also own a number of framed clown prints by an artist who signs as--Oberstein. I don't know anything on that person. Can anyone help me? Would certainly appreciate any assistance. Thanks. Frank Newcomb newcombrpt@earthlink.net

Try the Richard Thomas Gallery on Powell St. You want to talk to Cormac Hewitt. He use to be director of a Gallery who represented Mr.Wong's work. I doubt he'll buy them back....but...he may consign them for you. Or else, try Simic Galleries in Carmel.

Peter Wong's work usually sells at about $5000. per painting, that of course depends on size, image, etc. I might be able to help you out. You can call me at 415.751.4968.

Were you able to consign the paintings?

Let me know if you are looking to comission any art. I have wealth of artist which I have direct access to and I can probably get you the best deal. Some are even fresh new talents who have graduated top of their class from some of the most prestigious art schools in the world. I try and help them get a break.

This isn't an answer. It's another question. I was searching for an artist who sighns C Wong. I wonder if they could be the same. I have apainting; not of junks but red crowned cranes, foliage and a pagoda.

I am curious to know if anyone has further information. I have a beautiful 3x4 ft oil of Chinese junks, probably about 35 years old, signed P. Wong. I inherited it and wonder if I should insure?
