Railroads of Southwest Florida

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

'Railroads of Southwest Florida' has just been released by Arcadia Publishing in Charleston, SC. It explores the rail heritage of Florida's lower Gulf Coast, from Sarasota south to Naples including Venice, Boca Grande, Punta Gorda, and Fort Myers. Interior locales are also covered such as at Arcadia, LaBelle, Moore Haven and Clewiston. The book may be ordered directly from Arcadia at 843,853-2070. It is also available at better bookstores, or online from Barnes & Noble (www.bn.com). The ISBN is: 0-7385-0349-5. Although Arcadia's books are slanted to the general public, I have included much material for rail buffs about this garden spot of the Sunshine State, which has been ignored over the decades. Softcover; 128 pages; over 160 images, maps, and ephemeral. Comments & reactions welcomed, good or bad. Thanks! Gregg Turner
