Which Sony Playstation will play Vcd's. Do you need anything extra or adaptors to play it? Any info will be appreciated.

ok the Japanese playstation(white) can play video cds as it has the 1mb thing built in. the US versions Cannot unless you get the movie adapter which snaps onto the back of your psx (where a gameshark would go). HOWEVER if you own the new psx 9000 series, the serial port was removed and you cannot use the adapter at all

The latest VCD adaptor for the Sony PSX 9xxxx series now comes in a chip form and has to be soldered in place, it is widely available in Asia.

there is a serious complex way of playing a vcd on a normal playstation= as you place in your vcd hold down the little button at the back of the inside of your psx and turn it on then as the disk is spinning hold down select and square and then wola it will play your cd
