Which class is better? Fighter or Mage?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Planescape: Torment : One Thread

I know this is a stupid question that depends on the player's taste but I would like to know which is much more accesible to the mainstream player?

to tell you the truth, i never trird being a mage. i've always gone fighter or theif. i think it's a waste of time in this game to switch classes, if you stick with one you can reach level 16 or so buy the end of the game. i think fighter is the way to go though. let your other party members do the mage and theiving work while you protect their asses. 3 important things: 1 spells are needed (make sure you get a wizard in your party, 2 even if you are not a mage try and get a high INT (much better dialog topics), 3 use the theif to sneak around, especially in the demon worlds, if you don't want to fight (low on health), keep your group back and send your thief to find the portal and when they go through you do aswell. one last thing if you talk to your characters in the game you find that they will be able to turn you back into a mage, fighter, theif or whatever else you have trained in.

Yeah...if you haven't tried it already, talk to the others in your party...as already said, they can help you change your class, in addition to jogging your memory & giving you exp. pts!

Get up to a level 10 fighter and then switch to mage. You still retain the full Constitution, Strength, and Dexterity bonuses that are normally only allowed by fighters. You also keep the low Thaco. All this, plus spells too!
