My mum and Dad get #34 per week care allowance to help them take care of me Respite care charges per week #700 How can these differences be justified? Are there organisations or individuals who feel the same way about the poor support being given to family carers?

If my family want to go on holiday and I wanted to stay at home can I get funding for a relative to look after me?

Dear Chris, I can understand your frustration! The best organisation to contact would be the Carers National Association Scotland. They campaign for a better deal for all carers, including family carers. e-mail internet@carerscotland.demon.co.uk They would also be able to advise you regarding funding for respite.
