I don't think so. The feds haven't really "raised" interest rates, the market did.

Also, raising gas prices is more inflationary.

Interesting angle. It's not Greenspan's job to comment on the stock market, let alone influence it. It's not his job to stabilize the American economy either. His job is to turn a profit for the elite investers that own the federal reserve. emember this is a private bank backed by foreign investers, not a branch of the US.gov.

So my question to you Jockey Boy would be: How would the increased price in oil profit the elite investers Greenspan works for?

Their handlers, too. Even well thought out long range plans can have a monkey wrench- bug-thrown in them. Whatever else is going on is just inertia, catching up with ever increasing friction.
