My ? is concerning example 9:1 in the text book. The book converts L atm to Joules. Could you explain how this was done?

You take the amount of (L atm) and multiply that by (101.3 J/L atm). The (L atm) cancels and you get the amount of Joules. It's on page 346, towards the end of Ex. 9.1.
