team request for the "Industry adoption" topicgreenspun.com : LUSENET : UVa CS 655 Discussion : One Thread |
For the project of the Programming Languages course, I'm considering working on the topic "Industry adoption". I'm looking for one or two teammates (David Evans thinks it would be a good 2-person project)As a reminder, this project idea aims at illustrating the fact that it takes about 20 years for a good idea from the programming language research community to become widely adopted in the industry, then devising a theory for why it takes so long. Finally a prospective part could give some similar good ideas still to be adopted by the industry.
I think this topic can be very interesting because if one considers working in the industry one day, it would be good to have a better understanding of the industry machinery in general and especially here what I would call "technological lookout".
